Tips for how to measure yourself

1. Bust measuring:

Take the tape and measure around your breast, straight across the back and around in the front through the fullest part of your breasts.

2. Waist measuring:

Measure where at your slimmest point of your waist (it should be located above your belly button and below your rib cage). Pull the tape across your body at this point and measure. Leave a little ease for breathing, to ensure comfortable fit.

 3. Hip measuring:

For your hip, you have to make sure that you include the fullest part of your butt, take the tape and keep it straight around and measure.

4. Top length measuring:

You are going to measure from the shoulder, in the mirror you can see easier if it is correct. You start from a shoulder seam of your shirt and lay the tape straight down your bust and then down for your desired length.

5. Skirt/ Trousers length measuring:

Start with the tape where you would like to be your waist of the item (regular waist, mid-waist or low.-waist) and let the tape hang straight down. Read the measurement from the mirror to get better result, rather then bending down (it could give you wrong measurements).

6. Rises measurements for trousers for better fit:

Front Rise:  Here you can also decide for regular- , mid-, or low waist measurement. Place the end of the tape between your legs, where your trousers seams meet, and measure upward until your desired height where you want your trousers hit your waist or hip. Read the measurement from the mirror.
Back Rise: It is similar to the front, place your tape between your legs where the trousers seams meet and measure with the tape up over your butt and stop at the point where you want your trousers waist hit either your waist or hip. Put your finger on that point at the tape and keep it there until you read the correct measurment of it.

7. Thigh measurement:

Measure one of your thighs around at it fullest part. Try not to move the tape, because you can get wrong measurements.

8. Trousers inseam measurements:

If someone can help, ask them to measure measure you while you are wearing trousers. They should put the tape between your legs where the seams are meating and strech it down to the bottom hemline.  If you are alone than take your perfect fitting jeans and measure the same way, from the crotch to the hemline.

9. Upper arm measurement:

It is good to measure if you have muscles or bigger arm to ensure better fit. Make sure you do not keep very thight your tape aroud your biceps, keep a little room and ease in your measurement for comfortable fit.

10. Sleeves length measurement:

Put the mersertape at your shoulderpunt, wher the sholderseam meets the sleeve  and let it run down on your arm and you should be able to read the measurement. (At your desired length: elbow, 3/4, or full length) For long sleeves, make sure you lift up your arm a bit to provide moving space and the correct measurement.
